The Saint Barth Film Festival “Cinéma Caraïbes” is back after a two-year absence due to the Covid pandemic. On May 4-7, 2022, the festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary, which did not take place as planned in 2020, or again in 2021.
Four feature-length films are on the program for the 25th St Barth Film Festival, including two documentaries. The first two films will be shown on May 4 and 5 at AJOE in Lorient, while the films on May 6 and 7 will be shown on the dock in Gustavia, pending approval from the Collectivity.

L’eau, est un élément majeur de la création, elle est essentielle à notre existence. La crise de l'eau touche aujourd'hui de nombreuses régions du monde. A Saint-Barthélemy, le défi de l’accès à l’eau potable fait partie de l’histoire de ses habitants, qui nous partagent leur témoignage à travers le temps.
En faisant face à cette crise de l’eau, les habitants de cette petite île, ont su relever ce défi, et nous transmettent un message plein d’espoir, qui nous l’espérons, pourra trouver écho ailleurs dans le monde.
Né en 1988 en France, Boris Lalanne réside à St Barthélémy de l'âge de 20 à 33 ans. Président et cofondateur, de l'association humanitaire Boson, il œuvre avec celle-ci en Amazonie Péruvienne pour l'accès à l'eau potable dans plusieurs communautés natives.
En Mars 2021 à l'occasion de la journée internationale de l'eau, il organise le festival "St Barth & L'Eau", un engagement est alors pris, celui de produire et réaliser un film retraçant l'histoire des habitants de l'île, face à ce défi endémique de l'accès à l'eau potable.
En septembre 2022, Boris s'associe avec David Lizounat pour le montage et la post-production du film. La réalisation du documentaire se termine en Mars 2024 juste à temps pour une diffusion en avant-première au St Barth Film Festival.

Water is a major element of creation, essential to our existence. Today, a major water crisis is affecting many regions of the world. In Saint Barthélemy, the challenge of access to drinking water is part of the history of the island's residents, who have shared their stories with us over the years.
By facing this water crisis, the residents of this small, dry island have risen to the challenge, and are sharing a message full of hope, which we hope will be echoed elsewhere in the world.
Born in France in 1988, Boris Lalanne lived in St Barthélémy from the age of 20 to 33. President and co-founder of the humanitarian association Boson, he works in the Peruvian Amazon to provide access to drinking water for several native communities.
In March 2021, on the occasion of International Water Day, he organized the "St Barth & Water" festival, and made a commitment to produce and direct a film retracing the history of the island's residents in the face of the ongoing challenge of access to drinking water.
In September 2022, Boris joined forces with David Lizounat for the editing and post-production of the film. The documentary was completed in March 2024, just in time for a preview screening at the
St Barth Film Festival.
