The Saint Barth Film Festival “Cinéma Caraïbes” is back after a two-year absence due to the Covid pandemic. On May 4-7, 2022, the festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary, which did not take place as planned in 2020, or again in 2021.
Four feature-length films are on the program for the 25th St Barth Film Festival, including two documentaries. The first two films will be shown on May 4 and 5 at AJOE in Lorient, while the films on May 6 and 7 will be shown on the dock in Gustavia, pending approval from the Collectivity.

Deux kidnappeurs malchanceux chargés de ce qui semble être une simple mission découvrent que c’est tout sauf ça, et se retrouvent au milieu d’un complot politique.

À Port-au-Prince, le fils d'un riche candidat à la présidence vient d'être enlevé. Les kidnappeurs exigent une forte rançon. Doc et Zoe sont deux gangsters amateurs mordus de foot qui doivent livrer le jeune homme à leur impitoyable patron. Impulsif, Zoe tue accidentellement le fils du candidat.
Avec un tueur à gages à leur trousse, Doc et Zoe tombent par hasard sur Patrick et Laura, un jeune couple en route pour l'aéroport. Laura, enceinte de neuf mois, veut à tout prix accoucher d'un bébé américain. Malheureusement, Patrick ressemble comme deux gouttes d’eau au fils du candidat.
Doc et Zoe décident de kidnapper le couple et de remplacer le fils du candidat par son sosie Patrick. En plein milieu d’une élection présidentielle controversée et d’un complot politique, Doc et Zoe se lancent dans l’un des enlèvements les plus fous d’Haïti.
Bruno Mourral est un scénariste, réalisateur et producteur qui a étudié le cinéma à l'EICAR à Paris. En 2007, il retourne en Haïti et cofonde Muska Group, une société spécialisée dans la production audiovisuelle.
Bruno a réalisé plus de 50 publicités dans les Caraïbes et en Afrique, remportant plusieurs prix pour les meilleures publicités. En 2015, il cofonde Muska Films pour développer l'industrie cinématographique haïtienne. En 2017, Bruno écrit, réalise et produit Kafou, un moyen-métrage qui remporte plusieurs prix et nominations, ce qui l’amène à figurer parmi les 25 scénaristes à suivre dans le magazine Moviemaker 2018.
Bruno présente Kidnapping Inc., son premier long-métrage au festival de Sundance en 2024.

Two hapless kidnappers are tasked with what appears to be a simple abduction for hire, only to find out that it's anything but, and end up in the middle of a political conspiracy.

In Port-au-Prince, the son of a wealthy presidential candidate has been kidnapped. The kidnappers are demanding a hefty ransom. Doc and Zoe, two amateur gangsters with a passion for soccer, must deliver the young man to their ruthless boss. Impulsive, Zoe accidentally kills the candidate's son.
With a hitman on their tail, Doc and Zoe stumble across Patrick and Laura, a young couple on their way to the airport. Laura, nine months pregnant, is desperate to have an American baby. Unfortunately, Patrick looks exactly like the candidate's son.
Doc and Zoe decide to kidnap the couple and replace the candidate's son with his look-alike Patrick. In the midst of a controversial presidential election and political conspiracy, Doc and Zoe embark on one of Haiti's craziest kidnappings.
Bruno Mourral is a screenwriter, director and producer who studied cinema at EICAR in Paris. In 2007, he returned to Haiti and co-founded Muska Group, a company specialized in audiovisual production.
Bruno has directed over 50 commercials in the Caribbean and Africa, winning several awards for best commercials. In 2015, he co-founded Muska Films to develop the Haitian film industry. In 2017, Bruno wrote, directed and produced Kafou, a medium-length film that won several awards and nominations, leading him to be named one of the 25 screenwriters to watch in Moviemaker magazine 2018.
Bruno presented Kidnapping Inc. his first feature film at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024.
